MYR Energy was the prime contractor for the engineer-procure-construct (EPC) delivery of this project, which added 100MVAR 345kV shunt reactors to Electric Transmission Texas, LLC’s Tesla, Edith Clarke, Clear Crossing, and Riley substations to maintain stability and flexibility in West Texas.
MYR Energy contracted with Great Southwestern, a fellow MYR Group subsidiary, as its electrical subcontractor. Great Southwestern’s scope encompassed engineering services, construction management, construction; and supply of all major equipment, including five reactors; and testing and commissioning.
