BUILDING INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE

Our History2008 Responding to evolving markets

2008 – Founded as MYRT

MYR Transmission Services, Inc. (MYRT) was established in 2008 to better meet the needs of clients constructing large and complex transmission projects across the United States. MYRT’s offerings included complete engineerprocureconstruct (EPC) project delivery or construction-only services, expanding client services beyond the traditional design-bid-build project delivery.

2011 – Constructing large-scale transmission infrastructure

In 2011, MYRT was selected as a partner for the CapX2020 projects — representing one of the largest single transmission initiatives in the region that expanded the electric transmission grid in Minnesota, providing customers reliable, low-cost electricity. The new infrastructure provided a foundation for the region’s electric growth, as well as interconnection with clean energy sources in southern and western Minnesota and
the Dakotas.

Additionally, in 2011 MYRT was selected as the prime contractor for the ITC Holdings – KETA 345kV Project in Kansas, which consisted of 225 miles of transmission line. The KETA project helps deliver affordable power to Kansas while bolstering the reliability of their regional transmission grid and assisting in the development of environmentally friendly wind energy.

2013 – Creating reliable and competitive energy markets

In 2013, MYRT was selected as the prime contractor for ITC Holdings V-Plan 345kV Project, which consists of 174 miles of transmission line. The V-Plan is a high-voltage line connecting eastern and western Kansas, improving electric reliability while enabling energy developers to tap into the transmission grid and create a competitive energy market.

MYRT was selected as the procure-construct team for the LS Power – Cross Texas Transmission (CTT) 345kV Project in 2016. Through its high-voltage system in the Panhandle, CTT delivers some of the best wind resources in the world to millions of homes and businesses in the ERCOT region of Texas. CTT also increases reliability, relieves congestion, lowers electricity costs, and improves capabilities to respond to grid emergencies through its facilities in the Brazos Valley.

2018 – United States offshore wind pilot

Selected as the EPC contractor in 2018 for the Dominion Energy Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project (CVOW) project, this was the pilot project for offshore wind in the United States. Crews built and installed the onshore electrical interconnection facilities. This facility connects the offshore turbines to an onshore substation, where the power provided by the turbines is then converted for use. This project is critical to the development of future offshore wind farms in the U.S.

2019 – MYRT rebrands to MYRE

As the interest for a more sustainable future led by clean energy increased, MYRT rebranded to MYR Energy Services, Inc. (MYRE), providing specialized engineer-procure-construct (EPC) services for large transmission and substation construction projects and clean energy project delivery, including utility-scale solar and energy storage installations.

2021 – One of the largest solar and battery storage systems

MYRE served as the prime contractor for Battle Mountain, an engineer-procure-construct (EPC) delivery of a 132-MWdc photovoltaic (PV) plant, featuring 100MWh/25MWdc of battery energy storage (BES) for a four-hour period. The facility’s 25 MW of battery capacity make it among the nation’s largest DC-coupled combined solar and battery storage systems. As part of NV Energy’s Integrated Resource Plan, Battle Mountain brings 1,001 MW of new renewable energy projects
to Nevada.

2021 – 2023 – Large-scale utility grid upgrade

The Central East Energy Connect is an existing utility-owned transmission line that spans 93 miles across the state of New York. Under the contract, valued at more than $250 million, MYRE is upgrading existing transmission lines and structures to 345kV steel monopole structures in single- and double-circuit configurations. The project is designed to relieve a bottleneck in the New York state power grid, improve system reliability, increase efficiency, and enhance statewide accessibility to
renewable energy.
