MYR Energy Services led this EPC (engineer-procure-construct) project in Marysville, Ohio, to enable a solar development to connect to the grid at the Marysville substation. MYRE worked with an engineering partner to design and engineer all three facets of the work and procured the needed materials.
The L.E. Myers Co. performed the transmission line and substation construction scopes of work which included erecting two new transmission monopoles and stringing 345kV conductor from the substation to the point of interconnect, constructing a 765kV dead-end lattice tower to raise the existing transmission line, and upgrading a 345kV bay in the substation where the new transmission line would connect.
Substation upgrades included replacing and installing new circuit breaker, CTs, CCVTs, lightning arresters, a new motor operated switch, control cabling and two new control panels in the existing control house.
They successfully completed substantial construction in November 2024.
