MYRE, and fellow MYR Group subsidiary L.E. Myers, constructed an 83-mile 345kV transmission line from Hays, Kansas, to the Nebraska state line. This project was part of the Kansas Electrical Transmission Authority (KETA) project to improve the reliability and efficiency of the regional power grid and make more affordable energy available. It ran 225 miles from Spearville, Kansas, to Axtell, Nebraska. ITC Great Plains’ portion of the line spans 174 miles. It was completed in 2012. Crews erected structures, installed insulators, and ran wire along the 30 miles of transmission line owned by ITC Great Plains.
